The Commission is a sequel of the Covid Circuit Breaker short film The Pitch. With the artistic directors of each of the three theatre companies coming together and playing themselves, the play is a comedic and insightful take on their interesting existence with each other and their companies.
The work was a combination of filmed interactions to relate it to their original short film, some down to earth monologues with the audience, and some comical surreal moments where they play different characters from their companies' repertoire of work. The sound effects and vocal effects used were vital to keep the storytelling going and keep up with the comedy. System design and optimization was also important in the Ngee Ann Kongsi Theatre as it is a very small space with multiple levels of audience seating. |
