We had wanted to do an unconventional staging of the old favorite to make relevant the old themes in a modern world. The aesthetic of the visual world remained period but we juxtaposed that with a very modern sound and composition style.
Algernon is depicted playing this piece on the piano before he starts the show with the line "I don't play accurately, I play with wonderful expression."
Evidently this piece was composed with too much fun. Shishir wrote the lyrics and melody for this and I did the arrangement. This was sung for the closing curtain call to celebrate the pleasures and struggles of love.
Post show music. This piece was originally composed with post modernism in mind, reflecting on the play's outlook into its future - the need to break free of society and regain one's freedom.
